  2. Hi Tiffany, I love your website! Although I am not such an experienced crocheter, I am trying my hands on this stitch. I keep on getting stuck in row 3 though, because I never end up with my initial amount of stitches (18 in your example). At the beginning of that row, after I've chained 2, I have to skip 1 stitch. Is that skipped stitch the first one *below* the chain of 2 (so I start in the second stich below the chain of 2), or do I skip one of the chain stitches, starting my sc in the first chain stitch I made? Hope you can help me out, because I'd love to master this pattern! Anne (the Netherlands)

  4. Hi Anne! Thank you for your kind compliment on my blog and I'm glad you found me! I understand your confusion. I was confused too when I was trying to learn this! So the stitch you are looking to go into is the top of the last closed cluster which if you pretend the ch 2 is a sc, then skip the next stitch, go into the next and it should be the top of that cluster. If you want to count stitches from the hook, the ch 2, then the hdc from previous row, then top of cluster, so 4. Why it's important to assume the chain 2 is a sc is for when you return, you work your hdc into that stitch. So chain those two loose! Good luck! I hope hat helps! I wish the Netherlands were closer! I'd come over and show you!! Lol! Have a good day.
